P1 drivers Walter Grubmüller Jr. and Jan Charouz took 16th and 17th position respectively in the second Formula Renault 3.5 race from Magny Cours, after a trying weekend for the team in France.

Saturday morning got off to a tough start, with Grubmüller qualifying in 20th position, and team mate Charouz crashing just seven minutes into the session - subsequently starting race one from last on the grid.

Neither driver was able to finish the first race, which took place on Saturday afternoon in wet weather conditions.

Sunday morning saw Charouz qualify his P1 car in 16th position, while it was team mate Grubmüller’s turn to struggle in qualifying, as his FR3.5 machine stopped out on the circuit with just a few minutes of the session remaining.

The P1 duo continued on regardless, and finally rounded out the weekend both in the top twenty. The team now moves to Budapest for the next round of the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship at the Hungaroring on 3-4 July.
